Pushing Forward

Being in Hawaii, visiting my mom for the summer, I learned something from her that I took going into my senior year in high school which, helped me finish school strong. I would wake up to my mom in the mornings getting ready to go running, swimming, and biking almost every day preparing for a triathlon. She had a knee problem and the doctors told her she should not be doing certain activities such as the triathlon, but she did not listen. The day of the triathlon my family and I went to the triathlon to cheer on our mom, and she put me in complete shock on how well she did. Not one time did I ever hear my mom complain about how hard the race was or how hard preparing for the race was, she just went and did it because it was something she enjoyed. My mom not once during the race stopped to take a break because she was tired or cause her knees were hurting. She did not go out to try to win, but to finish the race because she knew she could even with her knee problems. I learned that when you want something, all it takes is some work and motivation, no matter how hard the obstacle is just keep pushing.
