We hope our journey will encourage other families to have hope and push through times of trouble.
Our family has faced many obstacles over the past few years. After
the economy took a turn, my parents lost their small business in Ft.
Myers Florida, lost their home and even had a car repossessed. We
continued working hard, volunteering in our community and got back on
our feet. We are pushing through which is something my grandmother,
Lucila taught us all.
Abuelita Lucila (A.K.A "Apita") was a strong and courageous woman.
Her husband was killed and she was left to raise 8 children on her own
in Colombia, S.A. There was a lot of poverty but God provided for her
children and often, the nuns and neighbors would bring leftovers for my
aunts and uncles to eat. Despite her circumstance, Apita was an amazing
woman who never gave up on life. I want to honor my grandmother and do
the same.
Recently my mother and I started our online business selling
innovative baby products after we came up with the idea of the NippyLid,
The Universal Baby Bottle Lid. For over a year we have been working on
the project and are in its final phase. We launched a fundraiser to help
with the costs of the mold for production and were so excited! Sadly,
not even 24 hours after launching our Kickstarter, I lost my grandmother
to cancer. She had been fighting it for three years and went to rest on
Tuesday, July 16th 2013.
I can chose to hide and mourn or celebrate her life. I can chose to
be hopeless or offer hope. Through the tears, I am choosing to rise
above our current circumstance and expecting great things. No matter
what you may be facing, I encourage you, never give up on those dreams
in your heart. triumph is just around the corner. Generations will
remember your legacy and live them out just I am doing thanks to my
Apita.
"And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who
love him, who[a] have been called according to his purpose."
God Bless you,
Yesica Trawick
